Wedding Cupcake Towers

A popular option for weddings are wedding cupcake towers.  Sometimes, they are also topped by a small cake too.  Purple was the main color theme for these two weddings.

This cupcake tower matched the couples invitation.  It was filled with chocolate sour cream cupcakes with strawberry icing and strawberry vanilla cupcakes with vanilla swiss meringue buttercream.  How cute is the cake topper that they purchased from Naked Peggies on Etsy?

The display also included a few cupcakes in boxes and extra labelled clear boxes displayed behind with a little sign that says "Enjoy a wedding cupcake or take one home".   It was both a takeaway and also a dessert.
This wedding cupcake tower was decorated with some sugarpaste bees and ladybugs.   The tower had chocolate sour cream cupcakes with cream cheese icing and zesty lemon cupcakes with lemon buttercream.  On the sides were plates of mini chocolate cupcakes decorated to look like grass.

Great display of cupcakes. I like how it can be a guest favor and a dessert.

so cute juanita! curious... what do you find more labour intensive... cupcakes or doing one cake? i have heard many cake makers complain about cupcakes being very labour-heavy but of course it depends on the design... sometimes i wish i could just work on one cake instead of many many different toppers... :)

great work as usual.

@Lyndsay Interesting question. Many people think cupcakes are less expensive and easier to do. However, you are right, it depends on the design details. What I love about cake design is that I get to so many types of cakes, cupcakes and designs - I love the variety and all labour and creative-intensive in its own way!
